It is a relatively bright nebula and measures nearly 240 ly across. Two open star clusters are also visible in the image, NGC 2335 (top) + NGC 2343 (left of center). IC 2177 (the Seagull Nebula) is located along the line just above Sirius (about 5 degrees). The region is a treasure chest of planetary nebula and rich hydrogen clouds that reach almost to Sirius.
